 Brief: Chiquita, one of Bratskeir & Company's original clients, turned to the agency in 2004 to help the company better leverage its sponsorship of U.S. Soccer. Our response? The Chiquita Health Kick, a program to encourage kids and parents to lead more active, healthy, enjoyable lives. Soccer is a great way to kick-start your physical fitness - all you need is a soccer ball, some nice weather and a little open space.
One of the great commercial icons, Miss Chiquita hit the road to help get the ball rolling. She was joined by U.S. Soccer stars Landon Donovan and Shannon MacMillan. Thousands of consumers mailed in three of Chiquita's famous blue stickers - found on Chiquita bananas and other Chiquita fresh produce - to receive a free Chiquita soccer ball.
Retailers rallied around Miss Chiquita as she appeared at hundreds of supermarkets to meet with consumers and at the corporate offices of Chiquita's largest retail partners. Miss Chiquita appeared on local morning news shows making delicious Chiquita Smoothies - a fast way for kids to get some good nutrition - and discussing the Chiquita Health Kick.
